STATUS: On January 22, 2010 the LCCMR issued its 2011-2012 Request for Proposal (RFP). Proposals responding to the 2011-2012 RFP are due Friday, April 9, 2010. The RFP is available for download below.

2011-2012 Request for Proposals (RFP)

Deadline to Submit: 4:30 p.m., Friday April 9, 2010
LCCMR staff are available to review draft proposals if submitted by Monday April 5, 2010. Early submission of drafts is recommended to receive the most detailed assistance.

Proposals are being sought that provide multiple ecological and other public benefits in specific areas of the following eight categories (see RFP for detailed descriptions of funding priorities):
- Natural Resource Data and Information
- Water Resources
- Methods to Protect, Restore, and Enhance Land and Habitat
- Land Acquisition for Habitat and Recreation
- Aquatic and Terrestrial Invasive Species
- Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Air Quality
- Environmental Education
- Creative Ideas
2011-2012 Process Timeline
The proposal and funding process timeline for the 2011-2012 RFP is detailed below. Specific dates will be announced as they become available.

| January 12, 2010 | - Funding priorities were determined and 2011-2012 RFP was adopted. |
| January 22, 2010 | - 2011-2012 RFP issued. |
| April 5, 2010 | - Last day to submit draft proposals for LCCMR staff review. |
| April 9, 2010 | - Submission deadline for proposals responding to 2010 RFP. |
| May 2010 | - All submitted proposals distributed to LCCMR members for review, evaluation, and ranking. |
| June 3 & 9, 2010 | - A subset of high-ranking proposals is selected for further consideration and invited to give presentations before the LCCMR. |
| June 22, 23, 29, 30, 2010 | - Selected proposals present before the LCCMR. - Additional presentation dates may be added. Possible dates may include June 21, 24, or 28 or July 1. |
| July 13-14, 2010 | - Subset of proposals is selected to recommend to the legislature for funding based on consistency with funding priorities and total dollars available. |
| August-October, 2010 | - Projects recommended for funding begin submitting work programs for LCCMR staff review. - Research projects recommended for funding undergo peer review. |
| November 30 & December 8, 2010 | - Funding recommendations are adopted by the LCCMR in legislative bill format, as they will be presented to the legislature. |
| January-May, 2011 | - LCCMR recommendations presented to the legislature for consideration via introduction as an appropriations bill. - Bill is considered and acted upon by the Minnesota House and Senate. - Upon passage, the bill goes before the governor to be signed into law. |
| June, 2011 (Specific dates to be announced) |
- LCCMR approves work programs for projects funded. |
| July 1, 2011 | - Money from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund becomes available for expenditure and projects can begin. |
