2011-2012 PROPOSAL & FUNDING PROCESS
STATUS: After full consideration of all proposals received is response to the 2011-2012 Request for Proposal, on July 14, 2010 the LCCMR made their selections of projects to recommend to the 2011 Legislature. $50,679,000 from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund is being recommended for 92 natural resource appropriations. The recommendations came from the 2011-2012 proposal process in which 241 proposals requesting a total of approximately $161.9 million were received. These recommendations ranged from full funding for the full proposal and dollar amount requested to partial funding for specific proposal elements and partial dollar amounts requested..

92 projects have been selected for funding recommendations to the 2011 Legislature.
2011-2012 Proposals Received
PROPOSALS RECEIVED AND SELECTED TO PRESENT CAN BE VIEWED HERE.
241 proposals requesting a total of approximately $162 million were received. This RFP process is for the biennium (2 years) beginning July 1, 2011. For that period, approximately $52 million from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund is expected to be available to recommend for project funding. Thus requests exceeded dollars available by a ratio of more than 3:1.
On June 9, 2010, the LCCMR selected 105* proposals to invite in to present before the Commission and receive further consideration. Scheduled dates are available here. [*Note: 105 proposals consists of 82 individual proposals plus 2 partnership proposals containing a total of 23 individual sub-proposals (Metro Conservation Corridors, #104-D = 11 individual sub-proposals; Habitat Conservation Partnership, #106-D = 12 individual sub-proposals): 82+23=105.

2011-2012 Process Timeline
The proposal and funding process timeline for the 2011-2012 RFP is detailed below. Specific dates will be announced as they become available.

| May 2010 | - All submitted proposals distributed to LCCMR members for review, evaluation, and ranking. |
| June 3 & 9, 2010 | - A subset of high-ranking proposals is selected for further consideration and invited to give presentations before the LCCMR. |
| June 22, 23, 29, 30, 2010 | - Selected proposals present before the LCCMR. - Additional presentation dates may be added. Possible dates may include June 21 or 28. |
| July 13-14, 2010 | - Subset of proposals is selected to recommend to the legislature for funding based on consistency with funding priorities and total dollars available. |
| August-October, 2010 | - Projects recommended for funding begin submitting work programs for LCCMR staff review. - Research projects recommended for funding undergo peer review. |
| November 30 & December 8, 2010 | - Funding recommendations are adopted by the LCCMR in legislative bill format, as they will be presented to the legislature. |
| January-May, 2011 | - LCCMR recommendations presented to the legislature for consideration via introduction as an appropriations bill. - Bill is considered and acted upon by the Minnesota House and Senate. - Upon passage, the bill goes before the governor to be signed into law. |
