2008 Citizen Input Form

The Legislative Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources is seeking ideas and advice on how money from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund should be spent. The Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund was created in 1988 by a constitutional amendment. According to the Minnesota Constitution, the Trust Fund should be used for the:
"protection, conservation, preservation, and enhancement of the state's air, water, land, fish, wildlife and other natural resources."

The LCCMR makes recommendations on an annual cycle for up to 5.5% of the existing value in the Trust Fund. For the 2008-2009 biennium this amounted to approximately $22.8 million available each year for investment in the protection and enhancement of Minnesota's environment and natural resources.

Use the following form to express your ideas on how future money from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund should be spent to benefit Minnesota's environment and natural resources. Your input is greatly appreciated.
