Project Analyst

The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) is accepting applications for a Project Analyst position to support the work of the Commission with its proposal /funding process and project oversight with the intent of helping to maintain and enhance Minnesota's environment and natural resources.

The LCCMR recommends appropriations to the Legislature from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and other specific funding sources for natural resource projects designed to enhance and sustain our resources, based on a strategic plan and close oversight of projects and results. Job functions: The position operates as part of a small team of professionals in a highly accountable, non-partisan environment. The position involves review of the full range of environment and natural resource issues and opportunities pertaining to Minnesota; review of proposals for funding against the LCCMR strategic plan and related priorities; assisting in the proposal evaluation and ranking process; working directly with project managers to facilitate development of work plans and project implementation; monitoring and evaluation of current projects overseen by the LCCMR; and coordination and review of work plan amendment requests. Additionally this position will help with the development and maintenance of the LCCMR's grant management system with the system vendor and assist with the training of staff, members and proposers on the system.

Minimum Qualifications include: Bachelor's in environmental sciences, natural resources, or a related field with five years of relevant work experience or a Master's degree in environmental sciences, natural resources, or a related field with three years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of environment and natural resource management, progressively responsible work in public or private sector administration, demonstrated experience in project planning and management, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and demonstrated competency using MS Excel, Word, and Access are necessary. This position requires a person with broad based skills and a non-partisan background.

Desired Qualifications: Experience with the legislative process. Communications, media relations, and social media knowledge and experience. Knowledge and skill with website administration and basic HTML.
